About Southerly

Named for the wind that clears the air

Anyone who's spent a February here knows the wait: the stinking-hot afternoon, the glassy sea, and then the line on the horizon that means the southerly's coming. It arrives fast, drops the temperature ten degrees, and rinses the whole place clean. That felt like the right name for what we do to a full garage.

Who we are

One crew, the whole peninsula

Southerly is a local clearance crew working the Northern Beaches end to end: Freshwater to Palm Beach on the coast road, Frenchs Forest to Terrey Hills across the ridge. Not a franchise, not a call centre with a forty-suburb footer, not a broker who sells your job to whoever's nearest. The people who quote the job are the people who lift it.

The work is mostly what this peninsula actually generates: settled houses whose garages, sheds and under-house spaces have been quietly filling for years, renovations the kerb collection can't help with, gardens that outgrow their green bins, and family homes that need clearing with some care. We built the whole operation around that, rather than around being the cheapest line in a search result.

How we hold ourselves

The standards, in plain words

  • The figure comes first. One all-in price, named before anything is lifted, covering the lifting, the loading, the sweep and the tip fees. If it changes after you've agreed, that's on us, not you.
  • The whole load, one visit. We size the crew and the truck to the job so you're not living with half a clearout for a fortnight.
  • Streams sorted honestly. Green loads travel as green waste. E-waste goes to a licensed facility. Metal comes out of the pile. We describe what we do, and we don't invent percentages about it.
  • The dangerous stuff gets refused properly. Asbestos, chemicals and gas bottles need licensed specialists. We'll name the right path instead of quietly loading a problem.
  • Offers, not promises. Same-day where the run allows. If we can't, we say so when you ring, not at five o'clock.

No wall of five-star widgets here, and no invented "years of experience" counter ticking upward. The pitch is simpler: tell us what's in the pile, hear one figure, and judge us on the swept slab.

Why the weather matters

The forecast habit

Working outdoors on this peninsula makes you weather-literate whether you like it or not. You learn when a change will beat a kerb pile to the verge, which mornings will be too wet for an open trailer, and why the smart move is the job done in one visit under one roof of a decision, rather than strung out across booking cycles.

That's the habit the name carries. Booked like a forecast: you know what's coming, when, and what it involves before it arrives. Gone like a change: fast, complete, and the air feels different after.

Book a clearout

Don't wait for the kerb.

Tell us what's in the pile. We come and look, name one all-in figure before anything is lifted, and the whole lot goes in a single visit.
